Over 100 people made the journey to Shoal Bay to enjoy the race event and activities Shoal Bay has to offer. Social paddles on Saturday and Sunday mornings where enjoyed by those wanting to paddle out to see dolphins and there where plenty of them. The main event was Saturday afternoon where over 100 people lined up on Shoal Bay beach for the 7km/14km or 20km courses with Shoal Bay turning on its beauty. The paddlers made their way around Mt Tomoree before making a "portage crossing" across the infamous Fingal Bay Sandbar where everyone jumped out of their surf ski and carried it 50m across the sandbar to then jump back in and continue the paddle to Boat Harbour Beach.
The sun was out and everyone enjoyed relaxing on the grass with beers and music as we gave away over $5k in prizes to anyone who has entered into the event.
