The Palm Beach Playoffs attracted 120 surf ski paddlers for the 13km or 20km courses. Sydney turned on the heat in September with a beautiful 30 degree day with the ocean looking very flat and calm. As the siren sounded the paddlers paddled around Barenjoey headland to be greeted by a Nor'Easter that came through right on 2:05pm and provided a downwind for all to Long Reef.

Epic and ALLWAVE surf ski manufactures donated a $5250 surf ski each to the lucky door prizes, IPDA Office Fit outs donated $250 cash to the male and female winners of both Grand Finals and gave away in the lucky door prizes 2 x EPIC paddles valued $600 each. Greg Bennett of Bennett Paddles gave away a $880 paddle, Vaikobi ocean performance gave every paddler a FREE NSWSSC paddle top and in the lucky door prizes and Salty Cheeks gave out their padded paddling shorts to the podium winners and gave out many cool t shirts and hats as lucky door prizes.
